McDonald’s is all geared up to serve you again
The last three months of nation-wide lockdown in India has been a bizarre and once-in-a-lifetime experience for most of us. No one, not our parents, or grandparents or great grandparents for that matter, had seen anything like this before.
Lockdown taught us many things. It taught us that family time is important. It taught us the value of time, of taking it slow. We now know that we can do so much together. It also taught us that nature would truly like to reboot itself. We could breathe cleaner air, we could see better, we could hear less noise on the roads. And we all got a break. Most of us got a break, including those who have been working from home.
They got to spend that extra time with their family because the commute wasn’t an issue. The time they would have usually spent on reaching and coming back from office, which usually is 1.5 hours on a good day, that was the time that was being well-spent now. And for those who got a proper break, they started exploring new things like painting, reading, and cooking, a lot of cooking. There was Dalgona Coffee, Saree Challenge, and whatnot.
But if we look at the sad part of the lockdown, then access to our favorite food comes up. Even though home delivery was functional, there were many areas where people did not have access to get food delivered at their place. And for McDonald’s fans, well McDelivery was very much functional, however, due to constraints beyond the brand’s control, not every area was service-able. Hence, people waited.
However, fast-forward to today and there is great news for everyone who loves McDonald’s and its delicious range of menu items like McChicken, Veg Maharaja Mac, American Cheese Supreme, McSpicy Paneer Wrap, Potato Wedges, McSwirls, and soft-serves. McDonald’s is all set to open its doors to its customers once again! Once again, you can sit in a restaurant and have food without a care. But this time it’s going to be a little different. Your entire experience of dining at McDonald’s will be different. Here is what you should expect:
Lots of social distancing at McDonald’s
Post lockdown, things will look a little different at McDonald’s restaurants. For starters, there will be designated circles or rectangular boxes where you should stand while placing orders inside the restaurants, or at drive-thrus or dessert-kiosks. Everyone who enters the restaurant needs to wear masks. Not just that, a temperature check at the entry gate is a must for both employees and customers.
Like McDonald’s in other countries in the world that are embracing social distancing as the new normal, McDonald’s India is also all set to make sure people stand at a safe distance while they are at the restaurants. Even employees are supposed to stand in their designated spots while preparing food or assembling burgers. Not just that, even dining areas have designated seats where people can sit. There will be seats with a cross mark where one cannot sit. To be precise, alternate sitting will be allowed. This will ensure people enjoy their McDonald’s food while sitting at a safe distance from others.
McDelivery is safe too
McDonald’s delivery system and third-party delivery boys from Swiggy, Zomato, or Grabbo will follow all safety measures while delivering delicious and fresh McDonald’s food. All delivery agents wear gloves and masks. Before collecting every order at the restaurant, these agents sanitize their hands, wear a fresh set of gloves, and sanitize their delivery bags as well.
Once they reach a customer’s house, they keep the food at a safe and clean place and stand at more than a meter’s distance till the customer comes out and receives the order after getting a text on their phone. This Contactless Delivery ensures that McDonald’s food is delivered safely and hygienically. McDonald’s is not charging extra for the contactless delivery. It is the new normal.
New menu items like McSpicy Fried Chicken
And of course, the one thing that you must expect at the McDonald’s post lockdown is its yummilicious, lip-smacking food. All your favorites are still there; McVeggie, Chicken Maharaja Mac, Fries, Veg Pizza McPuff, Strawberry Shakes, Grilled Schezwan Chicken Double Patty burger, classics like Filet-o-Fish and McCafe items like Lemon Tea, Iced Coffee, Mango Smoothie, Choco Hazelnut Shake, Chocolate Express cake and Vanilla Chocolate muffin.
