When it comes to supporting, training and management systems in matters regarding defense, aviation, and security, Saab always has the right packages and solutions for armed forces and other organizations that require defense support. Saab is a Swedish defense and security company and one of the top defense companies in the world. As a forward-thinking company, Saab has always brought new solutions to the table, taking innovation and efficiency to the next level. Over the years, Saab has continued to raise the bar and make its mark as a leading modern defense technology brand by always being open to ideas and by taking inspiration from technologies that have stemmed from other areas outside aeronautics. Whether its products or support systems and training, Saab has always given their best shot to provide the best in the market today.

Here are a few essential products and packages by Saab that are some of the best in the market today.

AUV62-AT

It is not news that Submarines today play a crucial role in maritime defense. Owing to this, navies all over the world are also rapidly upgrading their submarine programs. This is why effective modern anti-submarine warfare measures are also needed. However, using such a gigantic naval asset that is of colossal importance to train for Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) can get too expensive for the armed forces, where maintenance and fuel is concerned. But Saab has a solution for that. Saab provides top-notch Anti-submarine warfare training systems called the AUV62-AT. The AUV62-AT, no doubt provides a flexible and cost-effective way of training crews, without the need for an actual.

AUV62-MR

The AUV62-AT is just the perfect solution for ASW operator training and onboard sonar and command systems check-ups. The AUV62-AT features powerful built-in tools for training, planning, and evaluation which are all capabilities that enable it to replace submarines in ASW training. The AUV62-AT is highly flexible, adaptable and can even operate in several different modes. This enables it to comply with various sets of training regulations. The AUV62-AT can also generate realistic submarine noises and echoes to create a suitable and realistic environment for the training. It mirrors every other physical property of a submarine including a tail that has ASW torpedo firing. Not only that, but the tail also incorporates transmitting and receiving transducers, so that training personnel can perform onboard analysis of the location of active sonars or torpedoes. The AUV62-AT tail is also capable of deceiving any torpedo homing system.

The AUV62-AT can be launched and recovered from any platform ultimately allowing forces to train in any field and dramatically reducing turn around times. Because of this, the AUV62-AT is always mission-ready, saving time and resources, even in the harshest of environments.

Saab Under Water Systems

Saab Underwater Systems AB is one of the world leaders in the area of underwater systems. Previously known as Saab Bofors Underwater Systems AB, Saab Underwater Systems AB has been focused on creating underwater systems like sensor systems, precision engagement systems, remotely operated and autonomous underwater vehicles (like ROV:s and AUV:s) for shallow and difficult underwater environments.

Since littoral waters vary widely in nature owing to its depths, complex hydro-acoustic environment, and sometimes, even having dense civil traffic result, the challenge is to tackle these situations head-on, which Saab has been doing efficiently with its impressive array of underwater systems of sophisticated weapon systems, sensor systems, and sub-surface equipment to help the countries to enhance their defense capabilities. We will be focusing on Saab’s Remotely Operated Vehicles here today and their purpose as underwater systems.

SAAB Underwater System

Saab offers Remotely Operated Vehicles like Double Eagle Mark II/III, MuMNS, SUBROV, and Sea Wasp. Mine Countermeasures, also known as MCM, is a serious business that demands vigorous mine reconnaissance and mine disposal tasks. This is where Saab’s underwater system Double Eagle MkII/III comes in. Today, this underwater system is the first and best choice for many navies around the world. But what can be done after the mines are successfully detected underwater? Tackling and neutralizing them. The Multi-shot Mine Neutralisation System, also known as MuMNS, has been created just for that. This underwater system can be used for live operational mine clearance, peacetime operations against historical ordnance, mine investigation, and underwater demolitions.

It is said that the role of the submarine as an underwater system is changing and evolving. To complement and aid these updates and changes is the Saab SUBROV, which is also known as Submarine Remotely Operated Vehicle. The role of SUBROV as an underwater system is to gather intelligence and data and through its easy to integrate and operate new tools and sensors capability, SUBROV enables the operators to perform difficult tasks without the need to modify their submarines for a longer period. The Sea Wasp is a very useful underwater system and a Remotely Operated Vehicle that was designed specifically to locate, identify, and neutralize Improvised Explosive Device, which is also known as IED, which is a growing threat in the maritime domain.

Maritime Traffic Management

Just like in any other area or domain, Saab is the first choice for navies when it comes to Maritime Traffic Management. Saab’s software Maritime solutions are used on ships, in ports, and around coasts throughout the world. Saab’s comprehensive Maritime Traffic Management suite comprises of a wide array of products that are aimed at making maritime operations safer and secure and more efficient. The Maritime Traffic Management solution allows the customers to run ports efficiently, manage the safety of traffic on waterways, protect the environment, support law enforcers and coast guards, perform underwater surveys, and perform precise navigation. The Maritime Traffic Management offers solutions like Vessel Traffic Services, Port Management, Coastal Surveillance, AIS, Marine Geomatics, and precision Navigation. We will focus on the port management area of the Saab Maritime Traffic Management.

Maritime Traffic Management

Under the port management area of Maritime Traffic Management, Saab has three different enterprises like PILOT CONTROL, PORT CONTROL, and TERMINAL CONTROL. The PILOT CONTROL software was created for pilots to give them mobile access to accurate information they may need to carry on with their jobs. This helps them to improve pilot dispatching function, easily manage pilot rotation, activities, schedules, and status. Meanwhile, the PORT CONTROL enterprise, also known as port management information system (PMIS) of the Maritime Traffic Management, offers a software solution that helps ports around the world to work more efficiently by automating workflows and link their port activity data with financial operations to generate faster and more accurate billing. The third enterprise under the port management of Saab’s Maritime Traffic Management is the TERMINAL CONTROL, also known as Terminal Operating System or TOS. This Maritime Traffic Management solution supports multi-purpose terminals, handling break-bulk and bulk, general cargo, and so much more in just one user-friendly package.

SAFE: Security and Safety Management

Airport operations no matter how small it is can be challenging. First of all, there are so many activities, information, vehicles and more to keep track of. Organizing all that data in a single compact format can truly improve the way airport authorities can handle their workflow and load.

SAFE, which means Security and Safety Management is a one-in-all user-friendly solution package that will improve workflows and create more efficient processes all the while effectively taking care of the security and safety of the airport. SAFE can safely provide the power to manage the necessary airport operations and can greatly affect the infrastructure and bring about new and improved security systems. SAFE can simply manage all areas of airport operations including landside, maintenance, security lines, resource management and many more.

Aerobahn

Saab’s Aerobahn is a set of products used to improve and enhance the collaboration between airlines, airports, and aviation authorities to manage events at the airport in a better way. Not only does it enhance the collaboration, but the Aerobahn also greatly helps in analyzing the real-time situation in the airport which ultimately helps in decision-making between the authorities. Simply put, the Aerobahn can help airport authorities to run airports better and safer.

Through Aerobahn, the airports can make better use of resources, stay on the same page as the different airlines where airport departure gates, billing, and validation are concerned. The Aerobahn can even be used effectively to manage capital investments and take care of pads, hangars, etc. The Aerobahn helps airlines to manage their airport activities including gates, fuel, passengers, baggage, customer experience, ground service equipment, and for its crew, people and processes. Today, Aerobahn is widely used all around the globe. Aerobahn can help the airports tide through irregular and highly congested operations with so much ease.

There are so many more features and advantages of using the Aerobahn. For example, Aerobahn can maximize the use of runways, taxiways, gates, and stands while decreasing the possibilities of delays during congested operations on irregular days. Aerobahn is also environmentally friendly which means that it helps reduce emissions. With Aerobahn, the airports, big and small, can identify trends and detect recurring operational problems, forecast them for future operational events. Aerobahn understands the usage of airport resources and automates operations after some improvements.
